Dr. Murray provides evidence-based therapy for children and adolescents ages 3-18 who are experiencing emotional and behavioral challenges and difficulty coping with stress or change. Treatment is tailored to each child’s development level, learning style and presenting concerns.
Therapy is grounded in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), an evidence-based approach that helps children understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while developing practical coping and problem-solving skills. For children experiencing tics or Tourette Syndrome, treatment may include Comprehensive Behavioral Intervention for Tics (CBIT), a structured, research-supported approach that helps reduce tic severity and improve a child’s sense of control.
Child and adolescent therapy is well suited for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, OCD, behavioral dysregulation, mood concerns, tics, school-related stress, or difficulty adjusting to life changes.
Sessions are active and skills-based, focusing on helping children build emotional awareness, increase flexibility, reduce avoidance, and strengthen confidence in navigating everyday challenges. Treatment is individualized, allowing care to be responsive to each child’s needs and goals.
Parent involvement is incorporated as clinically appropriate to support consistency, generalization of skills, and meaningful progress outside of sessions. Treatment may include individual child sessions, parent-child sessions, or a combination, depending on the child’s age and presenting concerns.
Treatment is collaborative, structured, and focused on helping children develop practical skills they can use in daily life.
