School Consultation & Collaboration

Services in School Settings

Dr. Murray provides consultation and collaborative support to help children succeed emotionally and behaviorally within the school setting. These services are designed to bridge the gap between therapy and the classroom so that gains made in treatment carry over into a child’s daily school experience.

School consultation may include classroom observation, collaboration with teachers and school staff, and consultation with Child Study Teams to better understand a child’s emotional, behavioral, and learning needs. Dr. Murray offers practical, developmentally appropriate recommendations to support students who are experiencing anxiety, emotional dysregulation, disruptive behavior, school avoidance, or social challenges.

Collaboration With Educators

In addition, Dr. Murray works directly with educators to support implementation of strategies in the classroom, helping teachers feel confident and supported in responding to students’ needs. Consultation may involve coaching around managing anxious or disruptive behavior, adjusting expectations, and reinforcing coping skills introduced in therapy.

IEP & Section 504

Dr. Murray provides consultation and guidance related to educational supports, including recommendations for IEPs and Section 504 plans, with a focus on social-emotional and behavioral accommodations that are realistic and effective within the school environment.

Professional Development Trainings

Dr. Murray also offers professional development and trainings for educators and school staff on topics such as managing anxiety in the classroom, responding to disruptive behavior, supporting emotional regulation, and creating consistent, supportive environments for students with social-emotional needs.

Collaborative, school-based support helps ensure that therapeutic progress extends beyond the therapy setting.
